Scoring incisions can be made freehand with a single or double bladed scalpel, however maintaining a consistent and desired scoring depth can be a challenge. The use of a depth limiting device facilitates the scoring process. The use of a double bladed scalpel is ideal for scoring incisions, as the exact strip width can be maintained. Existing depth limiting devices or attachments can only be used on handles designed to harvest strips up to 1 cm in width.\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003ci\u003eThe Variscore, a new design of a double bladed handle solves these problems by permitting adjustments of three critical parameters. New long spacers with a flat, not rounded top allows adjustment of the scoring depth from 0 to 1.5 mm. Additionally, the blade angle can be easily adjusted from 0 to 45 to conform to the angle of emergence of the hair follicle.
